Corporatisation Will Enable MIDA To Make Speedy Decisions
KUALA LUMPUR, March 30 (Bernama) -- The corporatisation of the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA), allows the agency now to make speedy decisions.
"We are working at present like a government. There are procedures that always slow us down in respect of decision making," Director General, Datuk Jalilah Baba told reporters, on the sidelines of the Invest Malaysia 2010 conference here Tuesday.
Kedah tetap teruskan Sulihh
ALOR SETAR 19 Jan. – Kerajaan negeri tetap meneruskan Projek Hab Hidrokarbon Sungai Limau (Sulihh) walaupun ia belum mendapat kelulusan Jabatan Alam Sekitar (JAS) disebabkan tidak menepati laporan Impak Alam Sekitar (EIA).
Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak berkata, projek tersebut akan berjalan seperti biasa sebaik mendapat ‘lampu hijau’ daripada pihak berkenaan yang dijangka dalam masa dua atau tiga bulan lagi.
EIA tidak halang projek SULIHH: Azizan
ALOR SETAR: Projek penapisan minyak Sungai Limau Hidro Karbon Hub (SULIHH) bernilai RM36 bilion (AS$10 bilion) akan tetap dilaksanakan seperti dirancang selepas mendapat kelulusan laporan penilaian kesan alam sekitar (EIA), kata Menteri Besar Kedah, Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak.
Upacara pecah tanah projek itu telah beberapa kali tertangguh dipercayai akibat Jabatan Alam Sekitar menolak laporan EIA yang dikemukakan oleh pelabur kerana tidak lengkap.
SULIHH: Tambak laut tangguh
ALOR SETAR - Projek loji penapisan minyak Hab Hidrokarbon Sungai Limau (SULIHH) di Yan kini dalam peringkat akhir menyediakan dokumen teknikal untuk permohonan kelulusan Laporan Kesan Alam Sekitar Terperinci (DEIA).
Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Industri dan Pelaburan, Sains dan Inovasi, Bioteknologi dan Pembangunan Usahawan, Datuk Ir Amiruddin Hamzah berkata, berikutan itu Kerajaan Negeri masih belum dapat menandatangani Memorandum Of Agreement (MoA) dengan pihak pelabur kerana perlu mendapatkan kelulusan Jabatan Alam Sekitar sebelum meneruskan projek penambakan laut.
Privately-held Merapoh Resources Corp Sdn Bhd has roped in two private Chinese companies to invest US$10 billion.
Hong Kong Beijing Star Ltd and Winson Investment Ltd will invest US$5 billion (RM18 billion) each to build the refinery in Yan, Kedah.
The two investors signed a memorandum of agreement with Merapoh and the Kedah state government in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
Merapoh executive chairman Md Nazri Ramli said it will invite other local and foreign investors to take up stakes in the project. Construction is scheduled to start next month.
