New Growth Centre

This site is situated approximately 40 kilometres north of Alor Star at the border town of Bukit Kayu Hitam, one of the five existing border towns like Wang Kelian, Padang Besar, Betong and Sungai Golok, that shares the common border with Thailnad.

The Thai border forms the northern boundary of the state where the Malaysia CIQ complex is located. On the Thai side lies the town of Danok. The Black Forest Golf Resort and duty free shopping zone is located North West of the site. Towards the south and west border of the sire are existing rubber plantations for future development expansion. Kota Perdana will be the first Free Zone of its kind in the ASEAN region. 3,000 acres have been set aside for the development known as the Free Trade Zone (FTZ). A moat confines the area and provides a natural boundary to define the FTZ.

Strategically located at the Southern Gateway to Asia, the development will capitalise on the potential of the North South Route from Singapore to China and India. The 3 kilometres ‘Transportation Spine’ forms the main transportation corridor along which the CIQ Complex is located.

A hinterland industrial area totalling 1,090 acres will support the FTZ. Also planned are 15 integrated residential communities complete with shops, schools, places of worships and public amenities that will provide quality living.
